Host a Cookie Party on National Cookie Day: December 4

The holidays are a great time to have a holiday cookie party or cookie swap with friends and family! A cookie swap party is a fun and easy way to try a lot of new cookies and collect new recipes with little effort. Ask at least six to 12 friends or family members (more the merrier!) to participate by baking at a batch of a dozen cookies (or more if you have more people). Be sure to ask if any one has any dietary restrictions or allergies.

As the host, ask what everyone is baking to ensure all the recipes are different, so you have more varieties of cookies to try. Ask each participant to make copies of their recipe to be given to each participant. Choose a date to visit and exchange cookies. Or if there are too many people to safely visit all at once, arrange for some of the cookies to be exchanged at a later time.

Enjoy sampling each cookie and voting for the: Best Cookie, Crunchiest Cookie, or Most Unique. Give festive awards or gift cards to each winner. Be sure to thank everyone for cookie contributions.
