Short-Term Success Story: James
James was admitted to our facility after a hospital and acute rehab stay due to having suffered a stroke. Upon admission James was evaluated by physical, occupational, and speech therapy. He required significant assistance to complete all mobility and activities of daily living. While receiving physical therapy services he was able to improve his ability to transfer from his bed to his wheelchair with only a little assistance. Occupational therapy focused on dressing and using the toilet safely. By the end of his stay, he had improved his ability to use the toilet and was able to put clothing items on with only verbal cues. Speech therapy was able to focus on memory and safety tasks with him and was able to achieve all his goals with our speech therapist. James was able to return home with his mom who is there to assist him with the help that he will require while continuing his recovery.
