Short-Term Therapy Success

Older adult woman working with physical therapist in the gym.

Helen J. admitted to our facility after a brief stay in the hospital. Upon arrival, she was evaluated by physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Occupational therapy began to work with her on activities of daily living and everyday tasks, while physical therapy worked on transfers and walking. Speech therapy jumped in as well for some memory recall activities and assisting the other therapies with safety awareness. Helen started her journey being very weak and unable to participate much but very quickly started to regain her strength. By the time of Helen’s discharge home, she was back to a level of independence. She returned home with her daughter and is following up with outpatient services. We enjoyed having Ms. Helen and wish her the best of luck.
