Short-Term Therapy Success: Connie

physical therapist working with elderly woman, stretching in physical therapy

Connie was admitted to our facility following a brief hospital stay. Upon admission, she was evaluated by both physical and occupational therapy. During her initial evaluations, she required maximum assistance for all functional mobility and activities of daily living, including the use of a mechanical lift for transfers.

Through hard work and dedication with PT, Connie made steady progress. She became able to move herself in bed and sit on the edge of the bed without assistance. She also learned to propel her wheelchair throughout the facility using her legs. Connie continued her progress with OT as well, focusing on transfers using a sliding board and daily activities such as dressing and putting on and removing socks. With continued practice and therapy support, she became independent with transfers using the sliding board.

While Connie has chosen to remain with us long-term, she continues to practice the skills she learned with our therapy team. Her determination and progress are something to be truly proud of!

Great job, Connie!
